Here are Some of the Best Spots in Puerto Rico to Explore and Have Fun!

Are you thinking about exploring Puerto Rico and wondering about the best beaches in Puerto Rico? We’ll give you all the details!

We may be a little biased, okay a LOT biased, but we happen to think that Puerto Rico is Heaven on Earth. There aren’t many places on this planet where you get a combination of Caribbean beaches, tropical rainforests and majestic mountain ranges.

ABut to make things even better, visitors from the mainland get to have the experience of being in an entirely different country while still being in the United States. You literally get the best of both worlds here. Oh, and there are so many wonderful things to do!

Things to do in Puerto Rico: San Juan

AThis vibrant capital is a wonderful place to explore both day and night. One could spend an entire afternoon meandering along the narrow cobblestone streets of Old Town. If you get a little hot, simply stop into a local drinking hole for a piña colada: after all the sweet cocktail was invented here.

You will certainly want to visit the oldest forts in the Americas, the Governor’s house, and snap a selfie at La Puerta de la Bandera, where a political mural draws a lot of attention.

Adventurous Things to Do in Puerto Rico

AAre you more of an adrenaline junkie that is looking for thrills? Well Puerto Rico has plenty of adventures to be had!

AThere’s hiking in El Yunque National Forest and kayaking in one of three bioluminescent bays. History buffs may want to explore Caguana Indigenous Ceremonial Center, which archeologists believe is one of the most historically important sites in the Greater and Lesser Antilles.

AThere is almost always some kind of festival going on in Puerto Rico, and they are sure to get your heart beating a little faster! And speaking of, if you think you have what it takes to “conquer the monster,” you’ll want to try your hand at ziplining on the biggest zip line in all of the Americas and the Caribbean.

Things to Do in Puerto Rico With Kids

AYou and your kids will have a great time hiking through the El Yunque Rainforest and playing in the waterfalls. There’s also shopping for quirky souvenirs and getting some ice cream in Old San Juan. And your kids are sure to be awed and amazed when kayaking in a bioluminescent bay. These bays glow in the dark when tiny organisms inside are disturbed. It is amazingly beautiful.
